2010 According To A Quirky Girl!Sunday, January 02, 2011
The new year has always been an exciting time for me. New beginnings are an opportunity to refocus and prioritize. 2010 was such an adventurous and life-changing year, and through all the ups and downs, I came out on top with an extreme love for life. This time last year I was on a completely different path. I can't believe how much I have changed as a result of everything that happened in 2010, but I'm so thankful for it all. I think it would be only fitting to do a little review of 2010 according to a quirky girl!
Looking back at all the loveliness that happened in 2010:
Things that I loved in 2010: Hair bows, chai lattes from Starbucks, pearl earrings, caesar salads, sunflowers, strappy sandals, llamas, fresh strawberries, swing sets, sundresses, butterflies, Vera Wang's Princess, coloring books, photography, sketching into the night, floral patterns, fairy lights, patterned tights, my discovery of etsy.com, liquid eyeliner, cardigans, pedicures with my sister, SHARK WEEK, ocean noises, Strawberry Fizz lipgloss from Victoria Secret, lavender tea, owls, Sex and the City, and snuggling with my cat.
My favorite movies of 2010: Letters to Juliet, Sex and the City 2, Toy Story 3, Inception, How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, The Book of Eli, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Eat Pray Love, Black Swan, and Shutter Island.
My favorite moments of 2010: Adopting Apollo, meeting some wonderful people through Happy Mail, our 50's themed choir concert, getting to know myself better as a single girl, the first dates with Zeth, being in my best friend's wedding, a road trip with my bestie, when my brother and sister-in-law came to visit us, going shopping in San Antonio with my sister, Zeth asking me to be his girlfriend, Halloween parties, our Spooktacular Halloween choir concert, the first time we said, "I love you", adopting a dog for my mom from the Humane Society, and visiting my best friend for our New Year's Eve celebration.
The tough parts of 2010: Going through an awful breakup, dealing with my chronic illness and all the doctor appointments that come with that, family drama, struggling with lots of anxiety and insomnia, having medicine allergies, and stressing when my grandfather was very ill.
Quotes to Define 2010:
♥"If you want to be happy, be." -Leo Tolstoy
♥"My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." -Dalai Lama
and my absolute favorite quote:
Waving farewell to a year filled with laughter, tears, adventures, goofy smiles, fuzzy kisses, and lots of love!
