My List of Essentials for a Happier Me!

There are certain things in my life which add to my overall happiness...

Such as my lovely friends, my dreamy boyfriend, and my eccentric family. There are also many activities which make me happy such as drawing, laughing, and singing.  But it is a rare moment when I take into consideration the simple material items which add to my daily happiness. Of course I'm not suggesting that you can be totally & completely happy with only material items, but I think it's appropriate to be thankful for all the little things in life.

My List of Essentials for a Happier Me:

Vanilla Yogurt & Granola...which is my usual breakfast. I have never been a big fan of breakfast foods, and I usually don't have time to prepare anything elaborate anyways. I started eating yogurt, granola, and some fruit for breakfast a few years ago, and it really works for me. I also drink protein shakes sometimes to help keep my blood sugar balanced until lunchtime.

Clarisonic Face Washing System...has made my face look & feel amazing! No lies! I have had my Clarisonic for a little less than a year, and I love absolutely love it! I have tried numerous face washing systems since my autoimmune disease started to cause problems with my skin. Nothing seemed to work as effectively until I started using the Clarisonic. I use my normal facewash with the Clarisonic every night. It's is an amazing product. My sister uses the Clarisonic Mia (which is a smaller version) and it works great for her.  I'm happier with a clear and smooth complexion!

Time.Mine Planner...to keep all of my to-do lists and engagements organized. There is a organizer on my phone, but I've never been good at keeping up with technology based planners. I need something tangible to scribble on. I'm considering a change in planners soon.

iPad...which I use to take notes with in class, along with a million other things. I'm still getting used to the technology, but I really love the concept.

Vitamins...Daily vitamins are so important!! Because of the way we all eat nowadays, I think everyone needs some kind of multi-vitamin to supplement their diet.

Cleaning supplies...to keep my home clean & tidy. I love love love to clean! Buying new cleaning supplies is a pretty exciting time for me. I know that is kind of lame, but oh well!

Post-its, tabs, and index cards...which I use on a daily basis to jot down notes, leave reminders, and tag pages in my books. I love the cute colors and shapes that post-its come in!

Crayons, gel pens, and pastels...or any art supplies! I love to buy art supplies at the craft store. While I love crafts, I'm really not one of those super-crafty girls who has huge cabinets full of glitter, ribbon, and paint. I just have a small assortment of art supplies so I can dabble in my crafts when the mood strikes.

Fresh fruit...because I love to snack! I need healthy options close at hand. I love to eat bananas and pears on the go. Sometimes I also make a little fruit salad if I'm not pressed for time.

Sketchpad...to lug around in my satchel. I love to pull it out when I'm bored and doodle the first thing that comes to mind.

Tarte Lipstain...which is my absolute favorite lip balm. I go through this stuff very quickly, but I love it so much!

Something to Sip...because I'm always thirsty! I can become very cross if I don't have a little bottle of water to sip on during the day.

Sneakers to run around in...to keep my feet from falling off while I'm out running errands. I even pack my sneakers or pair of flats when I'm wearing heels to keep my feet from getting eaten up.

Inspiration boards and colorful posters...because I'm a very visual person. I like to hang up posters, cards, and post-cards which inspire me visually. I also cut pictures out of magazine and make little collages.

Lots of stickers & stationary...so I can send letters to my friends and family!

I never stopped to think about my essentials! If i were to pick a few right now, it would be my hot cup of black tea (with a bit of coconut or almond milk) every morning. Giving my pets treats (they love me more during this time lol!), and wearing pink lipstick = feminine and fancy!

  6. I think everyone should have a list of things that make them happy and aim to add one thing to it every day.

Walking barefoot in grass, bubble baths, spooning the froth of a latte and searching for the perfect notebook are on my list.

  7. Fantastic post! I adore your inspiration! I would love to see a post about how cleaning can make you feel better. I'm one of those people that really needs motivation to clean.....I hate it. So if you love cleaning as much as you say you do, I think you could inspire a few of us "type B"s. :)
