A Quirky UpdateTuesday, November 13, 2012
Things have definitely been rather quiet around these parts lately. I have been struggling with some gruesome health problems for the past couple of weeks, and I simply wanted to keep any negativity away from my blog. As some of you know, I have an autoimmune disease that I have lived with for a better part of my adult life. Occasionally, I slip into a rough patch and struggle through a few weeks of what I like to call "the crummies". I recently started a brand new job with a home health agency, and the excitement of starting something new has helped me to pull myself out of the doldrums. My new job is actually my very first full time position since I graduated from college, so I definitely have high expectations of myself to get things right.
Earlier today while on a long walk with George, my wire haired fox terrier, I saw some colorful autumn leaves dancing in the breeze, and I instantly felt inspired to return to my blog. Lately I have been feeling extremely tired due to my illness, and my lack of energy has caused some mild depression because I am unable to do all of the things I love. I have been going for long walks with my dog to cope with some of those weird & unexplainable feelings. That may sound a tad kooky, but I have always benefitted from extremely and almost dramatically long walks. It's a wonderful escape whenever I need to clear my head or think about life in general. In addition to long walks, I also like to take really hot baths in epsom salt and listen to my favorite music on Pandora. I have been giving myself extra attention lately, and it has helped me deal with my stress & negativity. It has also helped me deal with some stubborn insomnia. Strangely enough for an extreme night owl, I have been going to bed rather early & getting up with enough time to enjoy my coffee.
Wherever you are in the world, I hope you are doing well.
Lots of love & positivity,
