A Quirky Update

Happy Friday! We survived and made it through the week. Although the week seemed to drudge on and on, it was actually a very good week in my world. I have been hyper-productive all week, dominating every daily to-do list without much of a sweat. I love the feeling of completing a massive to-do list.

We celebrated Valentine's Day this week. Valentine's Day has been my favorite holiday ever since I was in kindergarten and had to have surgery to drain fluid out of my lungs from strep pneumonia. I was so sick that I almost died. My kindergarten class crafted a giant Valentine out of butcher paper and delivered it to my hospital room. This Valentine's Day was a busy whirlwind for my husband and I. He had to work late and I had rehearsal for my UIL One Act Play (this is our competition play for non-Texas people). We are planning to go on a real Valentine's date this weekend.

I have really been wanting to write more often recently. I have always viewed writing as an outlet for stress and have really missed writing regularly on my blog. It’s been a struggle to pull myself out of my recent writing rut. Do you have any tricks to pull yourself out of a rut?

One of my biggest New Year’s Resolutions was to make more time for my hobbies and passions. I struggle with making the time for the little things that I enjoy. I have been trying to draw and sketch every night before bed and make it part of my routine. My passion recently has been to cook more often and try new recipes. On Monday, I made a copycat version of the Zuppa Toscana Olive Garden soup and OMG...it was better than the restaurant version. I have never been too keen to try copycat recipes, but this one was a keeper. I also have been

Healthwise, I have been struggling with chronic pain for the past few days. My elbows, knees, and wrists have felt like a thousand fires ants are biting me. The weather is going to change soon and that has a huge impact on my inflammation. My husband helps me apply icy-hot or Bengay every night before bed to help me fall asleep faster. I have also been struggling with some significant anxiety especially at night. How do you cope with night time anxiety?

I am excited for a long weekend full of Netflix and cuddles with Penelope. Hope you have an amazing weekend!
